KRISTEN'S INTERVIEW WITH LATIMES/24FRAMES

24 Frames The exploits of Jack Kerouac and Neal Cassady were first described in “On the Road,” Kerouac’s autobiographical novel featuring alter-egos Sal Paradise and Dean Moriarty, more than a half-century ago.
But the stars of the book’s first-ever film adaptation say they believe the Beat bible resonates as much as ever, and that it has coursed through their lives in unexpected ways.

“I read it at 14 or 15 and I was touched. I said ‘I need to find people that push me like this. I want to find people in my life that I want to run after,” Stewart, who costars with Garrett Hedlund (Moriarty) and Sam Riley (Sal Paradise), told 24 Frames.

At a rooftop restaurant Thursday morning, Stewart was still taking it all in. Dressed in a sleeveless leather top and sneaking in a quick snack of restaurant rolls, the actress was reflecting on perhaps her most prestigious role to date, as well as her first trip to often chaotic Cannes. “I’m a pretty nervous person, but for some reason I feel comfortable here,” she said..

Hedlund did Stewart’s Cannes virginity one better — before this trip, the Minnesota native had never been to France. Smoking a cigarette alongside Stewart and Riley, the 27-year-old said he was similarly moved by Kerouac, noting that it echoed through the generations because the feeling it captures hasn’t changed.
Stewart acknowledged that “On the Road” made her want to take on other real-life stories. (She also previously played Joan Jett in the femme-rocker biopic “The Runaways”)

“You wonder a lot more about the whys” with a real-life tale, she said. “And we had such an emotional responsibility to these people. They became our family, which is so much more driving.”
She said that in incarnating Marylou, who is often seen in various states of undress, “I wanted to find the person behind the character, and not the easy way of just playing the character as the girl who likes to [have sex] a lot.”  Read in full

ROB'S INTERVIEW WITH LA TIMES

Robert Pattinson has nothing but love for his recent experience on the set of “Water for Elephants,” director Francis Lawrence's adaptation of the popular novel that's set to open in theaters Friday. It was a far cry from his current job, finishing the grueling six-month shoot for the back-to-back filming of the last two “Twilight” films, based on Stephenie Meyer's final book in her bestselling series of young adult novels, “Breaking Dawn.”

Pattinson took a moment for a brief phone interview before he was needed on the set of a night shoot for the vampire mega-hit. He seemed downright exhausted. “I'm just arriving at set, thinking I'm going to work all night,” he said. “I'm kinda losing my mind.”

Question: Sorry to hear you're so exhausted. Can you tell us what your time was like on “Elephants,” with Reese Witherspoon?

Pattinson: It's easily one of the best experiences I've had making a film and it's by far one of the best experiences in my life. It didn't even feel like work and a lot of that had to do with Reese. She makes an effort to make it like that. I think she believes that it's really important to enjoy your work, especially when you have to be there for so many hours every day. I made a great friend out of it.

Question: How did working with the animals impact the environment?

Pattinson: When you have totally unpredictable elements, and there are dangerous elements in every single scene, everyone is in the same boat. If you're trying to herd up a pack of horses, it doesn't matter who you are. There is manure everywhere and everyone was filthy all the time. It was an egalitarian set because of that. It's quite inspiring to be around [the elephant]. It doesn't really matter what your taste is, everyone is going to like being around an elephant. It's not like being around another actor some people may not like.

Question: Reese mentioned that she found the paparazzi attention on you unlike anything she's seen before. What do you think?

Pattinson: She's trying to sound humble about all this but she's in all these magazines every week. It's a circus outside her marriage. Plus, I always see her [in them] buying her sandwiches and going to yoga.... I guess she's kind of accepted it in a lot of ways.... It's just a strange situation to be in if you're a sane person to have that kind of attention put on you.

ROB HAS A SALAD ON NITE OUT WITH BOYS

Prev we have HL report here , but since LATimes report it too, so.., and so glad he can enjoy his time off with boys :D

Robert Pattinson recently enjoyed a night out in Baton Rouge, La., with the boys of "Breaking Dawn."
The men of "Twilight," who've been exploring the city as they film the final two installments of the film franchise,  popped out for food and drink on Tuesday.
Pattinson, Kellan Lutz, Jackson RathboneJamie Campbell-Bower and Michael Sheen hit local joint Tsunami, reports Hollywood Life, for sushi, sashimi and even a few shots. A nearby table of admirers sent some lemon drops over to the vampire gang.
While that highbrow snacking is more like Hollywood, Rob has been sampling to local fare as well. Recently stopping by a deli chain called Maxwell's Market, the actor caused hysteria with the female staff, according to People.
So what did he order -- a juicy po' boy or some cajun delight?
"He ordered a house salad," a staffer told the Ministry. "It wasn't that exciting."
We dare say the young female population begs to differ.

KRISTEN STEWART FROM THE 'BREAKING DAWN' SET : FAME, MONEY AND RPATTZ

LATimes

Kristen Stewart's highly anticipated cover of Vogue has arrived, with a candid cover story that has us salivating over several key insights.
First, Stewart is impeccably styled by the magazine, in collaboration with the boys of Proenza Schouler — her blond highlights finally allowing her to tip the scales of total femininity and, dare we say, glamour.
Stewart was intervied on the Baton Rouge set of "Breaking Dawn," talking about the end of "The Twilight Saga" series, her mechanisms for coping with intense fame and, of course, Robert Pattinson. Almost.
"Masses of girls identified with Bella in a really profound way, for want of a better word," Stewart said of her character in the vampire franchise. "The connection that I've seen people have ... I've seen it physically. It's the characters they're flipping for.”
Wethinks Stewart is a bit humble — she commands quite a bit of attention herself.
"There's no way to eloquently put this — I just can't go to the mall. It bothers me that I can't be outside very often. And also to not ever be just 'some girl' again," she said.
Her life isn't without reward, particularly of the financial kind.
"Any time I hear that somebody's really rich, the first question is. 'Do you do anything with it? Or do you, like, chill? You just sit on it?' " she said.
With a reported $25 million "Twilight" payday, Stewart (inspired by her role in the forthcoming "Welcome to the Rileys") is considering helping women affected by the sex trade get back on their feet via a series of halfway houses.
And then there's the added perk of Pattinson — whom Vogue calls her "costar-boyfriend."
Stewart remained tight-lipped about sharing her personal life. "It's not my job," she said.

ROB ON 'TWILIGHT' FINALE "IT'S THE END OF ERA" + BILL CONDON ON ROB AND 'BREAKING DAWN'

Public speaking has never been Robert Pattinson’s favorite part of his job. But presenting the Golden Globe to director Susanne Bier for her drama “In a Better World” Sunday night proved to be a welcome respite for the actor, who’s knee deep in the middle of filming “Breaking Dawn,” the final installment of the “Twilight” saga, which will be split into two parts.

“It’s been really hard shooting both films at the same time,” admitted the 24-year-old star, moments before he had run backstage to present his award with “Tron” star Olivia Wilde. “But it’s the end of an era.”

That era certainly will be one that Summit Entertainment, the films’ distributor, not to mention the franchise’s devoted fans, will be sorry to see go. Starting with 2008’s “Twilight,” the fantasy romance that first saw Pattinson’s handsome, brooding vampire encounter his mortal love, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), the movie series has taken in roughly $1.8 billion at the worldwide box office, as audiences lined up to see Swan wrestle with her feelings for her immortal boyfriend and her best friend, Jacob (Taylor Lautner), a werewolf, over the course of the next two films, 2009's "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" and 2010's "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse."

At the start of the first part of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn,” Bella consents to Edward’s marriage proposal — Edward’s condition if he is to grant Bella’s request that he transform her into a vampire — and the young couple are wed before heading to a remote island getaway for a honeymoon.

Speaking by phone this month, director Bill Condon, who’s helming both installments of the finale, said he has been thrilled with what he’s seen from his leads. “All the characters are moving [in this chapter]," he said. "It’s really about the passage from adolescence to adulthood, and they all seem energized by that. It’s the stuff they are all connecting to in their lives.”

As for Pattinson specifically, Condon added, “Now he’s dealing with a character who’s like him. The final movie allows us to step behind the curtain of what it’s like to be a vampire. It doesn’t seem that exotic anymore; It’s trying to be more real.”

The director, though, was reticent to share any details of the production, which is filming in both New Orleans and Vancouver, Canada, with a jaunt to an island off the coast of Brazil — a location that might in the end prove the most memorable to Condon, because the entire cast and crew needed for the honeymoon scene was stranded after a long day of filming.

“It was incredible. We got caught in the middle of this huge rainstorm — I’ll remember it forever,” Condon said. “Eighty people sleeping on the floor of the set. We couldn't leave.”

ROB CHUGS A GOLDEN GLOBE BEER, FONDERS GOING FRENCH

LATimes

Robert Pattinson seemed to be enjoying himself during the Golden Globe telecast — relaxing backstage with a beer and debating on how he'd present one of the trophies.

Our associates over at Awards Tracker peeped the hectic behind-the-scenes action, where "Twilight Saga" star was spotted indulging in a Heineken with Summit Entertainment head Eric Feag.

Pattinson was tapped with actress Olivia Wilde to present best foreign-language film (a category that host Ricky Gervais said "no one in America cares about").

"And zee winner is," he said, doing his best Pepe Le Pew. Pattinson didn't use a gimmick -- and wound up not doing much at all next to a glowing Wilde.

Incidentally, backstage, Danish director Susan Bier pointed out that in her country, the win for "In a Better World" means "that a tiny country of 5 million people can actually manage to communicate to the rest of the world, which is a great achievement ... probably more than most of you realize."

See, Ricky, they do care in Denmark!

WFE AND OTR IN SEVEN MOST INTRIGUING MOVIE STORYLINES FOR 2011 - LA TIMES

January brings New Year's resolutions, holiday hangovers and, apparently, a lot of "The Dilemma" commercials. Although the Vince Vaughn vehicle isn't a huge storyline in moviedom, there are a number of narratives in and around the film world set to unfold in the coming months. Here are a baker's half-dozen to keep an eye on.

The "Twilight" crowd, the morning after: They've branched out into other roles before. But 2011 will bring moments of truth for all three lead actors in the "Twilight" franchise: Robert Pattinson in the period circus drama "Water for Elephants" (coming in April), Taylor Lautner in the teen fugitive thriller "Abduction" (coming in September) and Kristen Stewart in the adaptation of Jack Kerouac's "On the Road" (date TBD). The last two movies in the franchise that made them famous are shooting now. Which of the trio can fashion the most productive post-Forks career?

ROB AND KRISTEN SHARE NEW YEAR EVE AGAIN - ARTICLE PEOPLE + LATIMES

Uhm..mereka bukan pasangan kekasih dilayar aja kaleee!
