JACOBS: How close were you to getting the role of Edward Cullen in Twilight?FERNANDEZ: You’ll have to ask Catherine. It appears that I was closer than I maybe remember. I did have a screen test and signed contracts and all that. But the thing that came out of it, whether I was second runner-up or not, was that Catherine and I liked each other, and she was gracious enough to keep me in mind for other things. I really don’t know how close I was to getting the part in Twilight. Did I want the part? I did. But I don’t think I was right or ready for it. And I don’t think anybody knew that it was going to be what it’s turned out to be. When Riding Hood came along, I thought it was a much better fit.JACOBS: Is it strange to consider Robert Pattinson’s life? How that madness could have been yours?FERNANDEZ: I don’t think it ever could have been mine. I think it would have been really, really bad for me. He seems like a really neat guy who’s handled himself amazingly well. I’m very grateful at this point that I didn’t get it. I remember when my agent called to tell me I didn’t get it. And then the next day I had an audition for something else. [laughs] When it came out, I was doing a movie with Ashley Greene, who’s in Twilight, and we went to the movies and watched it. It is a funny experience but I can’t say that it was one of the movies I was heartbroken over not getting.

@PrincessStew I didn't see her dog with her. They walked in and went to the desk and then I saw them again as they were leaving.

So, does this sighting support the recent questionable interview that quoted Rob as saying,

CONFIRMED FROM SUMMIT : JD PARDO IS NAHUEL
I just got confirmation from Summit Entertainment that the actor JD Pardo is Nahuel
Rumor had broken earlier this week that he might be Nahuel when Breaking Dawn credits appeared next to his name in an area that typically only agents/managers can access on the IMDB.
JD Pardo has been in several TV series that unfortunately haven’t had much longevity. One of our favorites was American Dreams back in 2004 where he played Matt Perez.

"It's definitely sexy," Jackson Rathbone told us at Leeza Gibbons' Dare2Care Pre-Oscar Cocktail party of Edward and Bella's highly-anticipated onscreen love-making. "It definitely qualifies as shmexaaay."

From Ryan Seacrest 83rd Annual Academy Award producer Bruce Cohen, who’s an Oscar winner himself, phoned in Friday morning to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” to give us the inside scoop on the upcoming award show, hosts Anne Hathaway and James Franco, as well as revealed more on the surprise in store for the “Twilight” Twihard’s will “blow people’s minds” as well!
After releasing, via a Twitter video , that there will be a surprise for all the Twihards out there, Bruce furthered “Robert, Taylor, and Kristen will not be on the show but, the next best thing is going to happen and it will blow people minds.” Although Cohen wouldn’t reveal the surprise, he did let on what it is not, including it’s “not a live element at all…not technically CGI…and not the trailer for ‘Breaking Dawn.’” Listen to the Audio her
TwiExaminer Last year there were three Twilight stars to grace the red carpet for the Academy Awards/Oscars. Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner were presenters, while Anna Kendrick was a nominee in the "Best Supporting Actress" category. The year before that, Robert Pattinson served as a presenter.
As you already know, both Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have touched down in Vancouver, British Columbia to pick up filming for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, so that rules them out for Sunday's events.
No word yet on whether Taylor Lautner or any other Twilight star will be there, but at least one producer from the Oscars has spoken to the issue of Twilight fans' interest in the show.

No doubt, many shall. The Academy Awards take place on Sunday, February 27th at 8:00 p.m. One of the co-hosts for the event is James Franco, who, you might recall, is an outspoken Twilight enthusiast. There's even a connection between his post as host and his former interest in portraying a Breaking Dawn character . It should be interesting to see what they drum up for this! PREVIEW OF ROB'S VANITY FAIR - ITALY INTERVIEW

I don't know why but every interview with Robert Pattinson starts with a description of his clothes. Mine hasn't been written yet. It will be on the occasion of the release of his post-Twilight new movie "Water For Elephants", probably in May.
But I know that when I start working on it, I won't say anything on the way he's dressed. I want to do something different.
But I also know that, when it's about Pattinson, I can't omit any detail, because millions of women in the world, from the age of 9 upwards, would sacrifice a lot more than a broken nail in order to know the smallest news about him.
So here's a detailed summary of his look.
First of all the location: it's a suit on the second floor of the Four Season Hotel in LA.
Then the time: it's about half past 3 pm, and although ours is not the fist interview of the day, he looks as if he's just woken up.
Finally him: as soon as I go in, he pours some coffee. "I need to wake up", he apologizes. Actually, he has a sleepy face, but his eyes are incredibly clear. Then he sits and put his feet on the table in front of the armchair.
He wears black jeans, tight enough at the bottom, that gather on his bent knees, baring a piece of skin under the short black socks.
He has a very pale skin, dark and thin hairs.
He wears a pair of black Dr Martens', ça va sans dire, a T-shirt and a vintage jacket. His hair is shaved on the neck, with a tuft on the forehead. His skin is fair and smooth.
Oh and his lips: I swear they're the reddest I've ever seen in a man.

ROB'S PARENT COME TO VISIT IN VANCOUVER
@victoria1985 : Here's the girl's story for those who don't have access to the LJ:
"I was coming out of a shop this afternoon (less than an hour ago actually!) and just as I was walking out I caught the side profile of this older couple. For some reason they looked vaguely familiar (it was his Dad's strong profile that did it, lol)- and then I realized it was Robert Pattinson's PARENTS!
Hahaha- I am heartily and thoroughly MORTIFIED to say that I snapped a quick photo of them as I window shopped behind them for a block (thinking it would be welcomed by everyone on the blog here- even though my camera is crap)... and then they soon turned into a Keihl's where I just couldn't resist and ducked in too (feeling like such a weirdo, I can't even tell you. I was like- ooh, lip balm, well of COURSE i need lip balm!) Hahaha, I promise you I just wanted to hear whether or not they had the English accent, then I knew it would be without a doubt his folks. Plus- how often do you get to listen in briefly on the Pattinson family, right? ;)
So I went to sincerely try out lip balms while his Mom and Dad just happened to walk up close behind me and ask the counter clerk if they had anything soothing since she happened to have a cold. Something was said about how long they were in town and the answer was 'just 3 days'. And so they had a bit more of a chat, paid for something and went to the door. Then outside they ended up turning back and walking back in the direction I also needed to go (which was home) and so I ended up (this time innocently enough! lol) behind them again for a block or two.
His parents by the way- seem to be totally in love- his Dad had his arm gently resting against his wife's waist the majority of the time they were walking outside, and I easily got the impression in the shop that he dotes on his wife with a huge amount of warmth and affection. (he does seem like a sweet Dad to have!).I also got the impression that she is the one who wears the pants in the family- lol, but in a polite "I'm a women, of course I should be treated as a queen" kind of a way and duh! I think she's got that right. ;) And they were of course, both very polite. (They're English lol)
So anyways- sorry for rambling- that's my rPatz-ish spotting of the day! The city can hardly expect to see any glimpse of the son, so seeing the parents was sweet and thrilling enough. I hope the weather behaves for the rest of their time here! (Right now freezing and shockingly sunny- mountains look gorgeous rising up behind the city with their snow.) Heather"

AMY ADAMS MENTIONS OTR CAST . ON THE ROAD POSSIBLY IN CANNES?
Indiewire Amy Adams mentions the 'On The Road' Cast
"It was so fun working with such an auteur director [Walter Salles] and working with that entire cast [including Sam Riley, Garrett Hedlund and Kristen Stewart], the pulsating youth that they are."
The Guardian UK' On The Road' Possibly at Cannes?
Other possible contenders include Walter Salles's adaptation of On the Road and Cronenberg's A Dangerous Method, both of which feature Viggo Mortensen – the latter as Sigmund Freud.
The 64th Cannes film festival runs from 11-22 May, with Robert De Niro serving as jury president and Michel Gondry presiding over the short film competition.
