NEW QUOTES FROM THE COSMOPOLIS PRESSCON IN TORONTO

MSN One thing just to say: the girls who were at Geary Avenue at three in the morning were very sweet, and they had read the book," says Cronenberg during a recent Toronto press conference alongside his cast. "This is quite extraordinary. They made a T-shirt for us that said 'Nancy Babich' and had a pistol on it," a reference to DeLillo's novel. "And I wore that, and they went crazy.

"But that's interesting because very early on we were on the 'Net [and] we had seen that they were making these Cosmopolis fan websites. Some of them were incredibly beautiful. There were a couple that were better than the official one."

Adds Pattinson: "We were doing interviews in London, and someone asked about what the tagline was for the movie. I can't remember exactly what it was now, but I thought, 'Is that the tagline?' And both of us didn't know what it was. And I just found out the other day that it was from one of the fan-made posters. A whole bunch of journalists thought it was the real one!"

"They were making posters and they were reading the book, and the commenters were commenting on Don DeLillo's book," adds the director. "These were girls who had read Harry Potter and Twilight and now they're reading DeLillo, and they still like it and they still want to see the movie. So I thought, 'Well, there's nothing wrong with that.'"

Indeed. Pattinson's presence in Cosmopolis lends Cronenberg's film a pop cultural weight it might not otherwise have had original star Colin Farrell's Total Recall schedule not kyboshed his casting as Packer. (Inception's Marion Cotillard was to play his wife Elise, a role now played by Toronto actress Sarah Gadon.)

And while the teaming of Cronenberg and Pattinson might on the surface seem unusual, the strength of their relationship is evident not only in their interactions during the press conference but also by the fact that it has been reported that the duo plan to continue their collaboration with the director's next mooted project, Maps to the Stars. (Frequent Cronenberg collaborator Viggo Mortenson (Eastern Promises, A History of Violence, A Dangerous Method) is also rumoured to be eying a role in the film.)

QUOTES FROM THE TORONTO PRESSCON

570 News.com TORONTO - With its heady storyline, poetic literary dialogue and no room for improvisation or rehearsal, the new film "Cosmopolis" had several of its stars fretting before cameras got rolling.

Chief among them was Robert Pattinson, who admits to being in the "very obvious throes of a panic attack" before production began in Toronto in May 2011.

At a Toronto press conference on Monday, the "Twilight" heart-throb said he and co-star Jay Baruchel were "absolutely terrified" when shooting the first scene of the film that's based on the 2003 Don DeLillo novel of the same name.

Director David Cronenberg's calm demeanour put him at ease, as did a pre-shoot chat at the filmmaker's house in which he told him to "stop worrying."

"I think you were just placating me by saying to come around," Pattinson told Cronenberg with a laugh at the media event attended by the director and several of the film's stars.

"But I think you just said, when we started shooting, 'What will be will be.'"

Pattinson is earning raves for his performance in the film, which recently debuted at the Cannes Film Festival and opens across Canada on Friday.

ROB AND KRISTEN INTERVIEW WITH AL ROJO VIVO

Translation. What did you think of Brazil?
Kristen "Gorgeous. I mean these characters were so stuck in one place the whole time. And to take them there which is a place almost a complete opposite as what they are used to. A place that is completely alive. And to see their reactions was wow!"

Rob "I remember when me and Kristen were staying in a hotel and there were about 600 hundred fans screaming, “Rob, Kristen” they stopped till about 2 in the morning so we thought they were gone. But then at 6 in the morning they started screaming again. They had given us a little break so we could sleep."

ROB AND KRISTEN ON WORKING EACH OTHER AGAIN

Celebuzz Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have undeniable chemistry. We all know this, but in Breaking Dawn some of their best moments are the humorous ones during the honeymoon (think Bella’s “human moments”).  At the press conference for Breaking Dawn Pt. 1 we grabbed Rob and Kristen briefly to see if they would ever want to work together again, maybe in a romantic comedy.

After the four year Bella and Edward rollarcoaster, it might be nice to see them in a different genre together, right? Here was what they had to say about the idea:
I would die to work with [Rob] again,” Kristen said when we threw out the rom-com idea. “I totally would.”
Trust us, when you see the movie you will know why this idea is in our head. They are hilarious down in Brazil!

Rob is game too: “I would love to,” Pattinson told Celebuzz when asked if he would be up for a romantic comedy with Kristen. “Definitely I would work with her again [outside of Twilight].

Don’t get ahead of yourselves though, nothing is in the works as has been reported.

ROB'S NEW INTERVIEW WITH CINEMANIA

Your character and Kristen’s shared so many romantic times during the filming, especially the last day of filming.
The last day of filming in Saint Thomas was great. It was just Kristen and I. The only time we were able to film with a nice weather. It was literally the last day of filming, and we were filming a scene in which we’re kissing in the ocean, all night. So it wasn’t a bad way to say goodbye. Then everybody stayed to watch the sunrise. It was beautiful.

Can you share something about Kristen?
The only thing she likes to watch on TV is the cooking channel, especially when she’s on set. She has her TV on all the time in her make up trailer. That’s her only diva behavior (laughs); the cooking channel must always be on, any time, everywhere.

What was it like playing a dad? Was it hard?
Not at first. You’re holding a baby, which is not easy to do, but nobody knows how to be a father at first. You can’t prepare for it. It was weird whn Mackenzie Foy had to play my daughter because you start to think: “My daughter is now 11. It’s been two months that she’s been born and now she can talk.” It was complicated to play. But it’s a fantasy movie, so you have to believe it.

You said you were nervous of taking off your shirt this time.
When I did New Moon, someone in the studio said I needed a six pack and I had to work out. I had to look like a vampire, it was part of the character. As soon as they told me I neded a six pack, I stopped working out and I never did it again for the rest of the series. They realized they shouldn’t have told me anything. In this last movie I spent six weeks in Baton Rouge with nothing to do, so I started running. And then I started going to the gym and I became obsessed. I ran 14-16 km everyday. I even rode a bike. Until I got bored. Plus, when you’re filming, if you want to go to the gym you need to do it at 4 am. That’s just not worth it (he laughs in a very infectious way).

ROB, KRISTEN, TAY'S INTERVIEW WITH OK!MAG PHILIPPINES - NOV 2011

imagebam.com imagebam.com imagebam.com imagebam.com
Cute excerpts.
Kristen on the concept of marriage: "I am sappy person. I like the idea of people committing to one another for the rest of their lives, all of that."
On love "It is just nice to think that your version of love, and I am sure that everyone feels this way, is better than everyone else's. It is the strongest that ever was and it is all between us. It is like a secret. It is fun to have a secret. It makes you feel special."

Rob on his new haircut (fresh from the Cosmopolis shoot)
" I just finished a movie with David Cronenberg. It was a thing called Cosmopolis. Believe it or not my hair looked a lot worse in the movie.[laughs]

What will you be missing from the whole Twilight experience?
Kristen: (...) I do not feel remorseful in any way, like we missed something. It is all there. I am not really going to miss these guys.
Robert and Taylor: You are not going to miss us?
Kristen: No, I am not going to have to miss you.[laughs]

ROB AND KRISTEN IN STAR CLUB MAG - FRANCE

imagebam.com imagebam.com

Rob's Interview
1) How was the last day on set? This last day in Canada marked a break from the two previous weeks that were horrible and sad when it came to the weather. It was so cold. For the last day, we finally had some sun and it was nice. Then for the last scene, we got to film on a beach, facing the ocean. There are worse work conditions.

2) How was the mood on set?

It was really nice. There were more than a hundred people for the last scene, which was great. I’d already done my biggest scenes with Kristen so we were able to relax. Like I said, we had nice weather so it was a nice way to end everything.

3) How do you feel now that everything is over?
I don’t really realize it. I’ve been part of this journey for a while now and it didn’t register yet with me that it’s almost over. Even if we finished shooting, we’re still promoting the movie, it’s being talked about so I’m still immersed in it. Maybe in a year, I’ll have moved on.
