KRISTEN SHOULD BE GIVEN RECOGNITION FOR 'THE RUNAWAYS'
Kristen Stewart is best known for her role as Bella Swan in the "Twilight" series, but she has played other roles. In fact, she has played other roles extremely well and deserves recognition. Most notably, her role as Joan Jett in "The Runaways." As Joan Jett, Kristen Stewart gives an amazing performance.
The movie and Kristen Stewart's portrayal of Jett, however, were overlooked and almost completely forgotten this awards season. Other than at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, her name and role were never even mentioned in consideration.
Stewart received positive critical reviews of her work in "The Runaways." Kirk Honeycut in the Film Journal International called Kristen's performance "the driving force." Roger Ebert said of Stewart (and co-star Dakota Fanning,) that the pair "bring more to their characters than the script provides." A.O. Scott of the New York Times said of Kristen's role, "Ms. Stewart, watchful and unassuming, gives the movie its spine and soul."
Kristen Stewart's commitment to Joan Jett is evident throughout the movie. Her walk, attitude, and voice all perfectly match the famous rock star. Stewart sings during the movie, and her voice blends seamlessly with The Runaways' real music.
Often given negative feedback for her role and acting ability as Bella Swan in the Twilight series, Stewart demonstrates her talent in "The Runaways." Before "The Runaways" premiered, many doubted Kristen's ability to handle the tough role of Joan Jett. Not only did Kristen Stewart prove she could handle the difficult role of playing a real person, she nailed it.
"The Runaways" failed to make a strong showing at the box office, which may have contributed to its lack of recognition. The R rating could have kept Stewart's younger fans away, and others may not have been able to see her as anyone other than Bella Swan. Whatever the reason, a lot of people missed out on a great film and an award-quality performance by Kristen Stewart.
Hopefully, Kristen Stewart will provide many more award-quality performances in her career. She is an extremely talented actress. Her strong role as Joan Jett should have received more recognition and landed Stewart many award nominations.
Thankfully MTV did step up and at least acknowledge "The Runaways," even if the nomination was for an insignificant part of the movie. Kristen Stewart and co-star Dakota Fanning received a "Best Kiss" nomination, but unfortunately Kristen Stewart lost to herself and her Twilight saga co-star, Robert Pattinson. At least she still won!

JOAN DAN CHERIE MENGAGUMI KRISTEN DAN DAKOTA
Apa sebenarnya yang dirasakan Joan dan Cherie tentang Kristen dan Dakota yang memerankan mereka di The Runaways?
Kami menanyai Kristen saat dia melakukan tour press kemarin, dan dia memberitahukan kepada kami betapa gugupnya dia waktu pertama kali bertemu Joan Jett.
"Aku bertemu Joan setelah aku mendapat bagian, ini sangat menakutkan." Stewart berkata sambil tersenyum.
"Waktu itu rambutku panjang karena aku sedang syuting NM. Kemudian Joan melihatku dan berkata "Apa yang membuatmu berfikir bisa menjadi aku?"
Asal Kristen tau saja, jawaban Kristen tentang rambut itulah yang meyakinkan Joan.
Legendaris Rock n Roll itu mengatakan alasan dia menyetujui Kristen untuk memerankannya.
"Aku bertanya padanya, "Apakah kau mau memotong rambutmu?" dan dia menjawab dia mau. Itu membuatku merasa nyaman karena artinya dia akan sangat berkomitmen untuk menjadi aku. Setelah itu aku memberinya banyak CD, semua yang direkam oleh studio, mendengar penonton-penonton yang berteriak, semuanya aku berikan kepadanya, agar dia bisa merasakan bagaimana dan siapa aku, dan siapa perempuan yang selalu dia lihat di fotofoto, rambut hitam, make up tebal, dan gitar. Kristen dapat melakukan itu."
Kekaguman yang sama juga dirasakan oleh Cherie Currie yang bertemu dengan Dakota.
"Kami bertemu untuk makan siang. Dakota datang ke The Roxy dimana aku sedang melakukan Cherie Bomb untuk amal. Dia sangat baik ketika dia berkata, "Aku melihatmu di atas panggung dan aku berfikir kerjaanku belum seberapa." Aku berfikir "Thank you, Dakota."
"Bagaimana kau bisa terlibat di film ini?" Kata Cherie.
"Kau tidak akan percaya ini. Aku ke sekolah dan salah satu temanku punya tatto tempel. Kemudian aku mengambil tato yang bergambar cherry dan menempelkannya di lenganku. Ketika aku pulang ke rumah dan menunjukkannya pada ibuku, ibuku sedang memegang skrip film dan berkata kau tidak akan percaya ini, tapi kau akan memerankan tokoh gadis yang punya tatto cherry."
"Dakota berfikir itu merupakan suatu tanda.Kemudian dia membaca skrip itu dan dia berkata bahwa sudah sangat jelas gak ada yang bisa memerankan tokoh ini." Kata Cherie.
"Mengapa kau berkata seperti itu?" Lanjut Cherie.
"Apa yang akan mereka lakukan, anak umur 15 tahun memerankan tokoh berumur 26 tahun?" Kata Dakota.
"Saat itu aku berfikir betapa bijaknya Dakota untuk anak seumur dia." Cerita Cherie.
Yup. Kristen juga.

Nurut gw mereka emang cocok on-off screen. Dan mereka punya dasar pengalaman yang sama. Sama-sama sudah main film sejak kecil..
Dan keduanya adalah aktris muda favorit gw! Dalam memilih peran, mereka sangat bagus. Mereka sama-sama smart yaaa...
Love them! Dan gak sbr liat mereka love scene di The Runaways!huahahaha..Walopun klo kissing scene itu dibilang love scene, mereka berdua suka bingung..Kata kristen, "It's just kiss.One kiss."
