Rowling’s text that actually improved the storyline. The kids are all grown up.

'Remember Me' (March 12) – Coming off the strength of his first two 'Twilight' hits, Robert Pattinson's serious turn in this romantic drama got more press than box office for the film's somewhat controversial 9/11 twist ending and the fact that most Twi-hards kept their distance.

'The Runaways' (March 19) - Coming off the strength off her first two 'Twilight' hits, expectations were high for Kristen Stewart's turn as Joan Jett in this rock 'n' roll biopic of the all-girl '70s band. Again, most Twi-hards kept their distance. On the plus side, former child star Dakota Fanning finally came into her own with her adult role as rocker Cherie Currie.

'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' (June 30) – Twi-hards continued to line up in droves, beginning with midnight screenings, to drink in the third chapter of the Stephenie Meyervamps vs. werewolves saga this summer. The world got plenty of shirtless shots of Taylor Lautner, not to mention the big-screen 'Twilight' parody 'Vampires Suck.'

As the Brazilian side “Cinepop writes, is the film’s release for 25 November 2011 and is likely set to come almost simultaneously with “Breaking Dawn” in the cinemas.

But there’s more… HollywoodLife goes on to note Stewart and Hedlund were “sitting together alone” and “they stayed until 2:30 am!”

However, there’s one MAJOR PROBLEM with this story.

Stewart and Hedlund were NOT – repeat, NOT – “sitting together alone” at the Soho House.

Hedlund NOT even there.

A rep for Hedlund tells Gossip Cop exclusively that “it wasn’t him” at Soho House.

'WFE' AND 'OTR' IN BEST 2011 ESTIMATE - QUALIFIED EXPECTATIONS

I'm feeling less dispirited about 2011 now that I've tallied everything up. I'm looking at 39 filmsthat will almost certainly intrigue and perhaps more than that -- 9 that appear top-grade (and seem the most likely Best Picture candidates at this stage) candidates, 26 that seem at the least like promising maybes, and 4 that will most likely qualify as "entertaining," however you want to define that. Here's hoping that other surprises turn up. Corrections and suggestions are welcome.

Qualified Expectations (26)

Water for Elephants (d: Francis Lawrence). Cast: Robert Pattinson, Reese Witherspoon, Christoph Waltz, Hal Holbrook. Synopsis: "A veterinary student abandons his studies after his parents are killed and joins a traveling circus as their vet," etc.

On The Road (d: Walter Salles). Cast: Garrett Hedlund, Kristen Stewart, Sam Riley, Amy Adams, Steve Buscemi, Kirsten Dunst, Viggo Mortensen, Terrence Howard, Alice Braga.

I remember getting an Atari for my 10^th birthday. That was a big surprise. When I caught the top of those tiny ted joysticks atop of their black spongy controls, I knew my entry into double figure land was going to be one to remember. Wanna know what a bigger surprise was? ”Remember Me”! This truly out Gorfed Gorf and Swallowed Pac Man hole in terms of pleasant surprises – I kid you not. Say what you will about his sparkling work in those vampire pics, Robert Pattinson delivers one of the richest and most weighty performances of any actor this year with his uneasy son and lover at the center of director Allen Coulter’s love letter to 9/11 (yes, there is such a thing). Catch it on DVD – you’ll find it, unjustly, at the ‘bottom’ of the new releases shelf.
