CAROLINA HERRERA SAYS KRISTEN "WAS VERY MOVED" ON WEARING THE BD WEDDING DRESS

PeopleStyleWatch We knew the gown Carolina Herrera created specifically for the Breaking Dawn wedding took six months to design and that it left Robert Pattinson floored, but in the new issue of Town and Country Weddings, the designer reveals Kristen Stewart‘s very personal reaction.

“We did three fittings. When she initially put on the dress and looked over her shoulder into the mirror, she was very moved,” Herrera tells the mag, on stands Wednesday. “In that moment she was not an actress or a character in a film but instead a bride, and a happy one at that.”

The dress seen in the sketch (above) is what the designer calls a “union between Stephenie [Meyer's] description in the book and the Herrera bridal aesthetic” — something she has been perfecting for 25 years.

“I took into consideration the character of Bella and Kristen’s portrayal of her, and what this fantasy character would choose to wear for the most important day of her life,” she explains of the masterpiece, which retails for $35,000. “It’s made of a crepe satin with two inserts on the front and beautiful silk thread topstitching. The neckline is a slight V, just enough to see the collarbones. The back is oval-shaped, with a Chantilly lace border veiled in tulle. It’s very romantic, and when all the details come together, it creates a vision specific to Bella’s style and personality.”

CAROLINA HERRERA TALKS ABOUT KRISTEN AND BELLA'S WEDDING DRESS. MAKING OF THE BELLA'S GOWN

 

  

 Brides Magazine For months we were help in suspense waiting to find out what the Twilight wedding dress would look like – and we’ve finally seen the dress, and can now even buy the Alfred Angelo replica. But what was it like to land the coveted role of designing The Dress? And what was it like working with Kristen Stewart?

“In the initial fitting when Kristen put the dress on and looked in the mirror, she was very moved,” Carolina Herrera told Vogue in an interview. “In that moment she was not an actress or a character in a film, she was a bride, and a happy one at that. It is always very important to make the bride happy, of course, and in this case I was delighted to do so. It was a very special moment for both Kristen and the character of Bella to share.”

“I was of course inspired by Stephenie’s description of the gown in the book, but I added the touch of Herrera and also took into consideration the personality and the style of the bride,” said Herrera. “A wedding dress is both an intimate and personal for a woman – it must reflect the personality and style of the bride. Bella’s dress is romantic and filled with a timeless sophistication, very similar to the character. In a way, this dress served as a symbol of the character’s coming of age and introduction into womanhood.”

“It is always a unique process to design a wedding because every bride is different; the dress always has to be special because it is the most important day in the life of a woman. I tried doing that with this dress, but this one of course is totally different because at the end it’s a film – a cultural phenomenon. Millions of people are going to watch and it had to be precise.”

The Twilight gown – a handmade demure, floor-length style with a Bardot neckline and short train – is available to buy from Herrera boutiques in New York, Los Angeles, Bal Harbour and Dallas from January 2012.

CAROLINA HERRERA TO SELL KRISTEN'S WEDDING DRESS IN STORES

GossipCop The wedding dress worn by Kristen Stewart‘s Bella Swan character in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 will be for sale at designer Carolina Herrera‘s CHNY boutiques, it was announced on Monday.

The long-sleeved white sheath wedding dress, embellished with lace backing, was specially designed for Stewart.

Herrera, who said she was “flattered” to be asked to come up with the much-anticipated gown, said on the red carpet last week, “I wanted to create a magical moment that they had at the wedding.”
Right now it has not been revealed how many gowns will be created, or for how much they will be sold.

Marking the official wedding date of Bella Swan to vampire Edward Cullen, Alfred Angelo has been named the exclusive and official licensed manufacturer of Bella’s bridal gown, which appears in Summit Entertainment’s upcoming release of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN – PART 1, due in theaters on November 18, 2011.

BREAKING DAWN UPDATE : BELLA'S WEDDING GOWN DESIGNED BY CAROLINA HERRERA?

TwiExaminer For a while there, it was rumored that Zac Posen would design the dress for "Bella" (Kristen Stewart) in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1, but that was quickly shot down when Posen himself denied the same on Twitter. Now, another name has come to the fore, via ReelzChannelCarolina Herrera

"We have it on good word that Carolin[a] Herrera designed the dress of the year, which will be revealed in the next week or so."

While this is not an official confirmation, as Twilight film studio Summit Entertainment has not yet announced the chosen designer, it is interesting. Herrera was not one of the ten designers who participated in InStyle Magazine's Breaking Dawn bridal gown sketch-off, so we don't necessarily have an image to match with her vision.

EW  has not one but two exclusive images from Stephenie Meyer’s new book, The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide, which goes on sale April 12: Bella as a vampire and Bella in her wedding dress. A nice walk-up to the first Breaking Dawn film, no? I didn’t expect to like the first Twilight graphic novel as much as I did, and these illustrations are by that book’s illustrator, Young Kim, who did such a great job bringing Meyer’s characters to life.

ZAC POSEN DENIES DESIGNING BELLA'S WEDDING DRESS

 A couple of weeks ago, it was rumored that Zac Posen had been asked to create Kristen Stewart's wedding dress for the upcoming Twilight: Breaking Dawn film. At the time, when Posen was asked to comment, he replied: “I can’t. I don’t speak about any of my projects and the reality of her non reality,” adding: "You know I do love a wedding." But over the weekend, he took to Twitter to end the talk: "Heard the bella/twilight rumor and it's just that. I design for real women like Kristen Stewart and Anna Kendrick."
