Robert Pattinson has swept away his teen idol persona in one fell swoop, thanks to Cosmopolis. ShortList’s Jonathan Crocker talks off-piste career choices with a reluctant superstarFive minutes after meeting her, Robert Pattinson found himself having sex with French actress Juliette Binoche in the back of a limo. “She literally turned up and was like, ‘Let’s do it,’” he grins.“It was just hilarious. There wasn’t enough room in the limo so she was banging her head on the ceiling.” So this is what’s it’s like to be Robert Pattinson. “It’s just boring,”he counters, almost apologetically. What happens when you’re mega-rich, mega-handsome and mega-bored? You flip out. You get in a limousine and go on a ride that could change your life forever. Bouncy, backseat sex with an Oscar-winning actress. Boozy, late-night clubbing. Rabid crowds trying to get their hands on you. You beat up a guy in the street. You kill a man...

ROB'S INTERVIEW WITH DIARIO DE NOTICIAS
Scan Link Gossipgyal Translation/via RPLife
When you read the 'Cosmopolis' script, did you think it was going to be a science fiction adventure or, the opposite, an almost realistic film?
To be honest, I didn't think it would be a realistic movie. What really interested me was the lyricism of the script, a combination between poetry and fun... Usually, when I read a script, it's possible for me to visualize the movie. It wasn't like that with Cosmopolis: it was like I could only hear. Did that possibility of "hearing" came from the importance of the dialogue? Yes, because the dialogue surprised me even by the unique style. Starting by the structure of the pages: I could instantly see long monologues, which are rare in movies. At the same time it is incredibly easy to read: I think I read it in 40 minutes...
The book was written a long time before the financial crisis from 2008 and, now, it almost seems like a piece of news from today.
Even the pie on the face episode with Rupert Murdoch looks like a "prediction" from Cosmopolis
By knowing that, did you feel like you're portraying the reality of the present days?
As strange as it seems, I didn't. I felt that it was a movie about the wish to be free There are people that see it as a nihilist story, about the neglect of everything, but I never saw Eric Packer's character that way. To me, he's someone desperately trying to find something and... he can't.
Why, is money not enough?
Yes. In any case, to him, money is something that doesn't mean anything. I should say that the stock market can be anything to mean, it doesn't make any sense. For example, when we read the news about Facebook: 104 billion dollars? How can that be real?
Before filming Cosmopolis, were you familiar with Cronenberg's work?
Yes, I had seen a lot of his movies. I had a poster of Scanners in my room.
Maybe we can say that Cosmopolis brings back one of the main questions from his previous movies. What is reality?
There is one scene, during a riot, where Eric says to the woman, that conversations between "normal" people are too strange... And every time he tries to behave like a human being, he feels like an alien. Would it be that reality is just to take some antidepressants and live... happy?
How is it for an actor to prepare for a character like this?
I started by the usual ways and that didn't work.
What usual ways?
Where does the character come from? What are his motivations to behave like that? All of the sudden, nothing of this makes sense for Eric. There's a scene (which is in the book too) that, to me, was the key point of everything. It's the moment where Eric, with his "chief of theory" talk about the Nasdaq building: to them, it looks like a church.
And what happens in a church like that?
To them, they spend the time crating transactions, everything happens as if they'd live in the future, no need to deal with the present: the future is infinite, the present is astounding.
How do you think that people will see Eric? Will they be sympathetic? Will they hate him?
To be honest, I don't know. The first reactions have been really good, but I don't know. When I watched the movie, I felt that, in the end, Eric is just a really sad character. What is strange is that if we had to deal with him, Eric would be someone that no one would care about.
This sadness is probably a recurring theme with Cronenberg...
Definitely, because they are not stories that end when we get to the end. There's always some unreachable happiness, that leaves discomfort... I like that.

KRISTEN'S OTR SYNDICATED INTERVIEW
Via kstewartnews This interview OTR roundtable interview will be syndicated and ran through multiple publications or videos. Portion of the interview in video format from Allocine.
YahooOMG PhilippinesQ: Kristen, how big a leap does On The Road represent for you?
STEWART: I loved being part of the film and having had the chance to throw myself into my character. I thought of MaryLou as this fun-loving, adventurous woman who is enjoying this time in her life and just being herself. It was so beautiful for me to be able to express her wildness and try to capture that free-spirited side of her.
Q: You seem so natural in the role?
STEWART: Thank you. I don’t know any other way to play a part but to try to live my character and want to feel every emotion that my character experiences. I’ve grown up and spent most of my life playing characters that are specific instances in my own life. There’s this strange interplay between me and the movies I make that I can’t really explain but it’s something that drives me.
Must read - Don't miss this.

Rob and Kristen Interview with Sky Cine News
First there's a short interview with Rob where he talks about 'Cosmopolis' then a Q&A - Rob and Kristen answer
Rob's intro:
It's a strange movie, people will find him petty important referring to the contemporary society but while we were doing it, it seemed totally surreal. Every actor that would come on the set was like 'What is this about?' and no one knew. That's my biggest fear when it comes out, that people won't get it.
Favourite movie:
R: 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest'
K: 'A Woman Under The Influence' by John Cassavetes. It really influenced me.
Favourite actor:
R: Brando, Jack Nicholson.
K: De Niro.
Favourite actress:
R: Ellen Burstyn
K: Jodie Foster and Catherine Keener.
Movie that always makes you cry:
K: 'A single man'
R: Gotta say 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' again.
Movie that always scares you:
R: Oh god, I don't know. 'The exorcist' or something like that.
K: Movie with people going crazy. That's frightening. For example 'Take Shelter', so good.
Movie that sexually excites you:
K: On the Road?
R: This is a tough one.
K: That's a tough one!
R: That movie called, my French accent is awful, 'Prenom Carmen', a movie by Godard. Actually I liked the main character.
K: Gosh, 'Unfaithful'. The whole movie! And also Diane Lane is one of the sexiest women on earth.
'Rob, is it true, as you said to VF, that you are ready to go and live with kristen?'
K: What?
R: Ehm, I read it and thought 'What is this interview?! I don't even remember doing it.' - But yeah, that woman kept making questions only about that and I was like 'What is going on here?'
I always try not to talk about my personal life and she basically said 'Oh, I would like to ask you about that!'
K: We are so proud of each other. And it's so crazy to be here together.
R: Yes, it's crazy having finished Twilight this year. It's very strange and incredible for both of us.
K: I can't wait to see his movie.
R: I hope you enjoy Cosmopolis, in Cinema Today. And I hope you like it and maybe see you soon.

Lily Collins talks Kristen and the 2 Snow White Movies
popsugar Starts at 2:00.
rottentomatoes.com Have you talked to Kristen Stewart about her Snow White, and is there any competition between you two?
Lily Collins: It's funny, we've actually laughed about the fact that we're apparently rivals -- because we're so not.
So you're friends?
Yeah. She's so cool, and I'm very excited for the other film. It could not be more different. They're polar opposites. I think the advertising campaigns prove to everyone how different they are: everything from the tone to the rating to the costumes; everything. She and I, we're very, very different characters and we just have laughed about it. I'm happy for her, she's happy for me. I think there's definitely room for both.

MYANNA BURING TALKS KRISTEN AS VAMPBELLA, TANYA AND EDWARD
via via
And MyAnna talks about Tanya and Edward
GlamourUK -3/14/2012.Your relationship with Edward Cullen is quite complicated. How did you get that to come across in Breaking Dawn?
Well Tanya has always held a torch for Edward, which sadly for her is a feeling that has never been reciprocated. To go into the details of that story was impossible in Breaking Dawn - as it is a separate story and we simply didn't have the time to incorporate it. So it just functioned as information and history for me playing Tanya. As she never displayed any jealous behaviour towards Edward and Bella's union in the books, Bill and I decided that she had the experience and the grace to let go of the things she could not change. We did however shoot a scene where she teased and joked with Edward about being jealous that he'd tied the knot. But it had to be cut because it was too long.

David Cronenberg talks about Cosmopolis and mentions briefly Rob and his fans
Interview with FilmInk

Fortunately, despite the fear that is currently paralysing the film business, Cronenberg already has his nxt film in the can. Cosmopolis is an adaptation of Don DeLilo's novel about 24 hours in the life of a Manhattan multimillionaire. "I wrote the script in six days, because the book is so cinematic - the dialogue is incredible," Cronenberg says. "That was unusual for me - to write a script that quickly. But then it was waiting to go." The project was brought by him by veteran Portuguese producer, Paolo Branco. "He flew to Toronto," Cronenberg says, "He came with his son, and said, "My son says that you are the right director for this project."
The only issue was that Cronenberg was lined up to shoot A Dangerous Method. "But Paolo said, "I will wait for you." And he did securing the services of one Robert Pattinson in the meantime to play the leading role of Eric Packer, an asset manager who endures a surreal odyssey across New York when he sets out in his hi-tech limo to get his hair cut and finds the car stuck in a monumental traffic jam. "About 70% of it takes place in the back of a limo." confirms cronenberg who still had to deal with legions of R-Pattz fans during the shoot. "It sometimes was a little difficult. But Toronto is relatively repressed, i.e civilized."
